Knowing the limits and disseminating the scope of our work are fundamental pillars that sustain this network. The contribution of doulas to the sexual and reproductive health of women, their babies, and their families is growing every day. Eradicating obstetric violence and generating, sustaining, and promoting respectful spaces for caring for pregnant women using a humanized or holistic model, based on current scientific evidence and in harmony and respect with multi-professional childbirth and postpartum care teams, are the cornerstones of the transformation toward the culture of peace we yearn for. Maintaining coherence between thinking, knowing, speaking, feeling, and acting leads us to establish a healthy coexistence that is also respectful of other work teams and professionals.
The code of ethics is intended to guide our actions and serve as a guide for all doulas, in a field not yet established or regulated by almost any country.
