Any doula who has trained with an organization or school, has experience in accompaniment, and can prove their expertise in this field is eligible to take the exam. Graduates of our accredited schools, after completing their theoretical and practical training, are also eligible to take the exam. Upon passing the exam, each doula receives a card with a unique certification code valid for two years and renewable.
Here is a database of professional doulas affiliated with the RMD, who adhere to our code of ethics and receive the benefits of RMD membership. The exam is available in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
